Transfer Case and Differential Service
- Remove differential fluid drain plug and drain deteriorated fluid. Recommend
plug replacement if necessary.
- Clean and visually inspect system. Recommend any replacement parts if necessary
- Reinstall plug and fill system with factory recommended differential fluid to the proper level
- Visually inspect the differential and differential fluid delivery system for potential issues
Transfer Case Service: For 4WD and AWD Vehicles
The transfer case is used in 4WD and AWD vehicles to distribute additional power when needed to the appropriate axles when traction conditions change. Owners with 4WD and AWD vehicles are recommended to replace this fluid periodically as well. Transfer Case fluid keeps the gears in the transfer case at the optimal operating temperature and keep the gear turning smoothly. Ask your service professionals at the Continental Toyota service department if your vehicle is due for fluid replacement based on your vehicles recommend maintenance schedule.
